Gloria Leininger, Owner

Gloria's interest in massage therapy began a long time ago. Working in the medical field for 18 years, Gloria discovered that a holistic approach to self-care connects the effects of bodywork with the mind and spirit, and this complimentary connection not only promotes physical health, but also can have a positive impact on one's overall well-being.

Gloria completed her training certification for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork at the Ann Arbor Institute of Massage Therapy in 2001. Before opening the Healing Arts Center for Massage & Wellness, Gloria worked as a Radiation Therapist at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Cancer Care Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She also provided relaxation massage to cancer patients. Currently, she is also an instructor at the School of Orthopedic Massage & Bodywork teaching the Infant Massage curriculum.

Through an integration of Swedish, Myofascial, Neuromuscular Therapy, Hot Stone and Aromatherapy as well as Chair Massage, Gloria's knowledge and experience have allowed her to work with and help facilitate health for a wide variety of clients, from the over-stressed individual to those who suffer from chronic illnesses. With her additional specialized training in Mayan Abdominal Massage, CranioSacral, Lymph Drain, Pregnancy and Infant Massage, Raindrop Technique and intensive training in Trauma Release, Gloria's extensive knowledge and experience in therapeutic massage provides an individualized treatment program, based on a wide variety of options for everyone.

Gloria's community involvement centers on organizations and activities that seek to assist cancer patients including participating in numerous fundraising walks. She is an active member of the Dexter Chamber of Commerce and the Dexter-Chelsea American Business Women's Association Chapter. She also provided volunteer massage services at Arbor Hospice.
